Please do accept my apologies for the delay in doing an update – where we are now, though a lovely place, has a poor WiFi system. But, anyway we had just done our first transfer to Lou P’tit Poun, just North East of Bayonne and had got settled in. I had continued to keep an eye on Madame, but we had also taken time to enjoy the campsite. The campsite was run by a very energetic lady who led us to our spot in a golf buggy. Her parents had originally set the site up in around 1990 so, it was very much a family affair

The site itself is very calm, and beautifully landscaped. We found that the staff were all very friendly, and because we took the time to try and speak French, they appreciated that, and took their time to chat with us. Every where was very clean – however, and its only an observation, there were no toilet seats… our next stop had a great solution to that issue… more on that later. Many of the staff were local youngsters, and they did do their best, but I think on occasions they were a bit overwhelmed. The food we bought was always cooked to order, well presented and a fair price. The drinks in the bar were good, though i did Jo did get me a drink that took me back to Ghent

Bob’s Beers are produced locally and having tried a few – I was impressed… though I steered clear of the 6% IPA after that one bottle. One other thing that I did do for madam, as she was feeling delicate, was to use the Cadac with a pizza stone – for anyone who has never tried to cook a pizza in a BBQ – its worth while!

Before we left, as I was prepping the van and deciding what to take with us, Michael had asked me about the funnels and bucket…. well, I said its for when you just want to top up your freshwater tank and don’t want the hassle of moving the motorhome….

Simples! anyway, after three relaxing and warm nights, it was time to pack and move on – heading a bit inland and further North. This was a lovely site, and we did enjoy it – but as we chatted, we realised that as and when we come back to explore more of France, we will want to try new place; For others looking, I would highly recommend Lou P’Tit Poun.
