Seems as if post covid – everything gets done – or at least cooked – in an air fryer. As Ziggy has no over or grill, an Air Fryer was high on my shopping list, but unlike the Ninja I have at home – where size and wattage doesn’t matter, space and power in a Moho is always limited.
So – the first criteria was really simple – power wise, ideally I wanted to draw no more than 6 amps power (Take wattage and divide by 240 to get the amps – that’s Ohm’s Law BTW!) so that would be useable on a Electric Hook Up.
Second criteria was size – and yes, lady’s – SIZE DOES MATTER – but in this specific instance – it matters with regards to where the air fryer would be stored and used – and to also be enough of a size to adequately feed a couple of middle aged cuddly people who like food…. that’s more of a challenge.

I
The perfect place for storage on Ziggy was actually under the forward bench seat of the dinette – not the most easily accessible place, but a spot that was secure and basically square shaped – and standard storage spaces on Ziggy or indeed any motorhome are rare!
Beyond the basics, I felt we didn’t need much in terms of gadgets, but – being a gadget geek – it’s always nice to have a few extras if you can! So i spent several weeks researching and visited sundry stores with a tape measure – needless to say I ended up finding something on Amazon:

This is a Russell Hobbs Rapid Digital 4L that ticks an awful lot of boxes, for £55 or there abouts and the only real compromise being that its maximum temperature is only 220 degree C.
So far we have used it for cooking part baked rolls for breakfast, paprika baked prawns and so forth – we do like to eat well – and for those who want inspiration i would suggest the Ultimate Air Fryer CookBook
So and in Closing. Was it worth the £55? I would have to say yes, but for a combination of reasons, not just for one. It’s the perfect size for where it is stowed, but also big enough for us to eat well off it. Though the cooking temperature is lower than what I would like in a perfect world, its draw is only 5.6 amps.
Would I buy it again – or could I buy better? Yes, I would buy it again – its a damn sight better than the piece of shite Daewoo that fell apart after 5 uses, and its ticks all the boxes for us in our MoHo
